Worship

Since the earliest days of the church, Christians have understood the need to come together before God, sharing in the Word, prayer, music, and fellowship.  Time spent in worship is time spent acknowledging who and what God is, and celebrating His activity in our lives.

We also worship because of who we are: children of God, created to seek relationship with our Creator.  Christians are a diverse group; some find that relationship deepened through worship in traditional styles, while others prefer more modern experiences.  Good Shepherd currently offers a Traditional Sunday Service at 9:30 a.m.

Upcoming Worship Opportunities

Traditional Worship

When:  Sunday Morning, 9:30 am
Where:  Main Sanctuary

Good Shepherd’s 9:30 service on Sunday mornings provides a solid, time-honored worship experience in a traditional style.  The service includes such elements as responsive readings, traditional hymns and chorale arrangements, prayer, and a Scripturally-based message.

Special Services

Throughout the seasons of the Christian year, special worship opportunities are provided to help us to deepen our appreciation of God’s work in the world.  Whether in our Christmas Eve candlelight service or our Lenten services, we celebrate the honor of being part of God’s on-going story in human history.

Holy Communion

When:  First Sunday of each month, during the 9:30 service
Where:  Main Sanctuary

The Lord's Supper is served as part of our Sunday Morning service on the first Sunday of each month.  In the United Methodist Church, the Lord's Table is open to all, regardless of membership status or denominational affiliation.  If you are seeking an authentic relationship with God, you are welcome at the Table of Christ.  If you have questions or concerns about Communion, please contact the pastor.

If you are homebound, hospitalized, or are otherwise unable to join us for Communion, please let us know and we will bring it to you!

Children

When:  During worship services
Where:  Nursery and Children's Church room

Nursery services are provided, during all services, for children through age five.  For parents who prefer to keep their children in the service, a Cry Room is available when needed.

For children age four and above children's worship is offered during our Sunday morning service, immediately following the Time for Younger Folks listed in the bulletin.  During this time, children are provided with an age-appropriate worship experience of their own.
