UMW meets the first Saturday of almost every month in the Rev. Bruce Center at 9:30 am (with the exception of a summer hiatus).  A program, business meeting, refreshments, and lots of fellowship can be found when joining this lively group!

The PURPOSE of United Methodist Women is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

News from UMW

Good Shepherd’s local unit of United Women in Faith will meet at 9:30
on Saturday, April 5, in Cooper Hall. Shirley Greener will arrange the
program, Elaine Johnsen will call our attention to the response magazine
and bring a devotion from the Prayer Guide, Debbie Laney will
enlighten us through book notes, and Adelle Cancil and Elaine
Johnsen will serve as hostesses for the meeting.
As a mission organization emphasizing caring for women and children,
we are excited about Good Shepherd’s new covenant missionary. (See
accompanying article introducing Althea Belton.) While Good
Shepherd enters into a relationship with our covenant missionary, our
local unit of UWinF has chosen to provide the finances to fund this
endeavor. Every time UWinF hosts a bake sale, the proceeds go to
missions—missions of all kinds in all kinds of way. And funding our
covenant missionary is one of the ways we reach out in mission.
