Children & Youth Ministries
Growing in Faith, Friendship, and God's Love
At Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, children and youth are a valued part of our church family. We are committed to creating opportunities for young people to learn about God's love, build meaningful relationships, and grow in faith through worship, service, and fun-filled activities.
Children participate in worship each Sunday and are invited forward for a special Children's Time message. Following this time, they may attend Children's Church, where they explore stories from the Old and New Testaments through age-appropriate lessons, activities, and discussion.
Learning Faith Through Service
A Place to Belong
One of our favorite traditions is the Noisy Offering, held on the second Sunday of each month. During this special offering, the congregation donates loose change, and the children collect the gifts.
The funds are then used to support mission projects selected by the children themselves, helping them learn the joy of generosity and service.
Throughout the year, children also take part in special worship experiences, including the Palm Sunday procession, when they joyfully wave palm branches as we celebrate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.
After the Children’s time during Worship Service, the children are invited to go to Children’s Church where we learn the stories of the Old and New Testament.
They are also invited to participate in a mission project, or join us for one of our community events, children and youth are encouraged to ask questions, grow in faith, and discover how much they are loved by God and their church family.
We would love to welcome your family to Good Shepherd.
Faith, Fun, and Community
Good Shepherd offers a variety of seasonal programs and events designed to help children grow in faith while building friendships and creating lasting memories.
Easter Egg Hunt
Held on the Saturday before Easter, our annual Easter Egg Hunt welcomes children and families from both our church and the surrounding community for a morning of fun, fellowship, and celebration.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer, we host a free Vacation Bible School open to all children in the community. Through music, crafts, games, Bible stories, and hands-on activities, children discover God's love while enjoying a week of learning and fun.
Trunk or Treat
Each fall, our church parking lot becomes a safe and welcoming place for families to celebrate Halloween. Children enjoy decorated trunks, games, prizes, food, and plenty of candy while connecting with neighbors and friends from throughout the community.
