We Care Bags

A Small Meal with a Big Impact

Approximately 15 years ago, the Insights Sunday School class felt called to respond to hunger in our community. From that desire to help, the We Care Bags ministry was born.

Each We Care Bag is a simple sack lunch, intended to provide a meal for one person in a moment of need. While it is not a solution to hunger, it offers a brief respite and a reminder that someone cares. Every bag is labeled as a gift from Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, sharing both nourishment and compassion.

A Simple, Thoughtful Meal

Every item is chosen with intention to offer a simple, nourishing meal that includes protein and can be easily opened and enjoyed. Over time, small updates—such as switching to boxed water—have been made to better care for both people and the environment.

This ministry continues through the generosity of individuals and groups who donate supplies and support the effort. We are grateful for all who help make these meals possible and for the small but meaningful difference each bag brings.
