February 2026 Pastoral Message
Dear Church Family,
The month of January has been a season of profound testing and sorrow for our congregation. We have walked through the valley of the shadow of death several times, grieving the loss of beloved members after both sudden tragedies and difficult battles with illness. The empty seats left behind by our daughters, friends, and brothers carry a weight of sadness that is felt by us all.
In times like these, it is natural for our hearts to feel broken. But as your pastor, I want to encourage you: Let us lean on our faith. While we may not have all the answers for why these losses occurred, we have a Savior who holds us in the midst of them. We do not mourn as those without hope. Let us strengthen one another, pray for those who are hurting, and show up for each other as the body of Christ.
This collective journey of grief leads us naturally into the season of Lent, beginning with Ash Wednesday on February 18. Lent is a time to remember our frailty—that we are "dust"—but it is also a time to remember the immense love of God that reaches into the ashes of our lives to redeem us.
If the sorrows of January have humbled us, let the reflection of Lent turn our eyes away from our fears and toward the Cross. Over these forty days, may we seek God’s face, find divine healing for our wounds, and renew our commitment to follow Him, no matter the cost.
I invite you to join us as we gather for fellowship and prayer:
Men’s Group Pancake Supper: Tuesday, Feb 17 @ 5:00 PM. A time for food and brotherhood before the Lenten fast begins.
Ash Wednesday Service: Wednesday, Feb 18 @ 6:30 PM. A solemn service of repentance and prayer to begin our journey to Easter.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Peter Jisung Lee
