May 2026 Pastoral Message

Dear Church Family,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As we embrace the vibrant season of May, I pray that God’s abundant blessings and grace fill your lives and your homes to the fullest.

May is truly the season of the family—a time to pause and cherish the gift of those closest to us. When I reflect on the word "family," I am reminded of my own life journey. If I were to describe it in one phrase, it would be: "Always leaving my comfort zone," much like Abraham’s journey of faith.

My path toward independence began when I left the warm embrace of my home in Korea to live in a college dormitory. After graduation, I took another great leap of faith and moved to New Jersey to pursue my Master’s degree. It was a daunting challenge to leave my mother country and step into a completely new world. Looking back, however, that decision to leave my comfort zone was the best choice of my life, as it opened up a new spiritual horizon for me.

Then, eight years ago, I embraced yet another challenge: moving from New Jersey to Colorado. Throughout this process, each step meant physically distancing myself from my family. While I have built a beautiful life here with my beloved wife, Faith, my heart still often turns toward my parents and sister in Korea, and toward my wife’s family in New Jersey and California.

Although I miss my family dearly, I have no regrets. God has provided a "new family" for me right here—our precious church family. This May, I find myself wanting to call my distant family members more often just to hear their voices and ask how they are. For those of you who have family living nearby, I encourage you to cherish those moments and love them even more. For those who, like me, are separated by distance, I hope this May becomes a season where you reach out more frequently and share your love.

Mother’s Day (May 10)

On Mother’s Day, we bless all mothers who have shown us the heart of Jesus. When I think of my mother in Korea, the first image that comes to mind is that of a "Prayer Warrior." Even from thousands of miles away, her unceasing prayers for our family, our ministry, and our church have been my constant source of strength. For those who miss their mothers who have already gone to be with the Lord, I pray that the glorious hope of reuniting in heaven brings you deep comfort.

Graduation Sunday (May 17)

On the following Sunday, we will have a very special time celebrating and blessing two graduates from our community. Just as I once did, they are now leaving their own comfort zones to embark on new journeys into the world. I ask that you join me in blessing their future paths with all your heart, praying that God's guidance and wisdom follow them wherever they go.

I sincerely pray and hope that during this month of family, your days are filled with the Lord’s grace and abundant blessings upon your homes.

In His Abundant Grace,
Pastor Peter Lee
